Trust Festival films do business

Zentropa's sales arm Trust Film Sales finished selling Lars von Trier’s competition film Manderlay [+see also:

to all countries excluding the UK and the US, territories that always take longer to negociate according to Sales Executive Tine Klint. Germany (Legend Films) was one of the latest ones to acquire Von Trier’s film.

Trust’s two films selected at Un Certain Regard, Dark Horse [+see also:

by the Icelandic Dagur Kári and Low Profile by the German Christoph Hochhaüsler also attracted a lot of attention: Dark Horse which was released in Denmark on 15 prints on May 14, was sold to Russia, Poland (Best Film), Benelux (Lumière), Greece (Ama Films), and Norway (Arthouse). Low Profile was sold to the US (TLA Releasing) and France (Zootrope Films).

Zentropa’s sales arm also continued to work on previous festival films such as Maria Blom’s Guldbagge winner Dalecarlians [+see also:

sold to Taiwan, Austria (Polyfilm), Germany (Kool Film) and Switzerland (Look Now!).

The promo-reel of Storm, the €2.6m debut film by Swedish directors Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein was very well received, "because of its unique story and very high production value", said Klint. It was pre-sold to Mexico, Brasil, Thailand, Turkey (Pi Films) and Estonia (Estin Film).

Pre-sales were also negotiated on established woman director Susanne Bier’s new film After The wedding based on the final version of the script co-written again by Anders Thomas Jensen. It was pre-bought by Rosebud for Greece, Teodora Film for Italy and by former Yougoslavia.
