10 features and 66 short films compete in Valencia

The Cinema Jove International Film Festival, which will take place in Valencia between 18th and 25th June, will screen 10 feature films from different nationalities, among them the multicultural comedy Galatasaray-Dépor by Hannes Stöhr, Looking For Alexandre by Canadian director Francis Leclerc, Vaterland by David Jarab, a generational portrait with Hungarian Feren Török's Szezen and the sordid reality of Im Nordwind by the Swiss director Bettina Oberli.

As far as short films are concerned, the 20th edition of the Festival received about 600 projects hoping to be accepted for the Official Section. The selection committee – composed of film experts – has now selected the 66 short films which will be part of the International Competition. These films come from Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Greece, Australia, Portugal, Singapore, Bulgaria, Russia, Germany, Lebanon, New Zealand, Ireland, China and Mexico, and will compete for an award worth over 10.000 euros in the competitive section. The countries with the largest selection of films are Spain (10), United Kingdom (5), Germany (6), United States (3) and Argentina (2).
