NOK 64m support to 10 feature films

In the Norwegian Film Fund (NFF)’s last round of support, four feature- length films were awarded production support, one Danish/Norwegian film received minority co-production support and five feature films received marketing support.

-Joachim Trier’s debut feature film Reprise, based on a script co-written by the director and Eskild Vogt, is a romantic comedy produced by Karin Julsrud (4 ½ Production).
-Gunnar Vikene’s family film Trigger produced by Silje Hopland Eik and Tanya Babendyck, will be a moving film about a horse called ‘Trigger’ with suspense and action for the whole family according to the producers.
-Uro by first-time director Stefan Faldbakken is a new urban thriller co-written by Faldbakken and the writer of Hawaii, Oslo Harald Rosenlow Eeg. The film about a policeman with a violent past is produced by Friland AS who recently worked on Sara Johnsen’s Kissed By Winter.
-Tomas Hylland Eriksen og historien om Origamjenta is a 50mn film about politics and love affairs directed by Dag Johan Haugerud. The film is produced by Mikrofilm (Lise Fearnley).

The Danish/Norwegian co-production which received minority co-production support from the NFF is Peter Schønau Fog’s feature debut The Art of Synchronous Crying co-produced by Final Cut in Denmark and Motlys Film in Norway. Both companies have collaborated several times together, including on Hans Petter Moland’s new project High School Teacher Pedersen. Schønau Fog is one of the rising star/directors in Denmark whose graduating film from the Danish Film School, Lille Mann (Little Man), won 10 international awards.

Among the five films that received marketing support are the new projects from Thomas Kaiser and Peder Norlund who were both successful at home with their previous films respectively Pelle The Police Car (2002) and Wolf Summer (2003). Kaiser’s new film Mirakel (Miracle) is a romantic comedy produced by Nordisk Film, and Norlund’s Radiopiratene (Radio Pirates) another adventure film for the family produced by Håkon Øverås (United).
