Paris Project based on the CineMart model
Attention producers, international sales companies, distributors and French broadcasters on the look-out for European talent : on the 3rd and 4th July, the 3rd edition of the Paris Project, organised within the framework of the festival Paris Cinéma in association with European Film Workshops (ACE), ARTE, the Rotterdam CineMart, the European AudioVisual Business(EAVE) the Producers Network of the Cannes Festival, will give them an opportunity to get involved in the co-production and pre-sales of feature films in development. Among the eight projects chosen this year are four from Europe: A Sarajevo Story by Denijal Hasanovic (Bosnia – UK), Benek by Robert Glinski (PolAND), I Am From Titov Veles by Teona Mitevska (Macedonia) and Illegal Gardens by Goran Rebic (Austria).
Built on the model for the Rotterdam CineMart, Paris Project sets up individual meetings bringing together the initiators of films (producers and directors) and French professionals interested in securing a financial partner. The meetings create concrete links as proved by Gorgomeesh Nora Hoppe at the first Paris Project where she seduced Unlimited as co-producer and Onoma as distributor in France and sales internationally for the project securing a shoot in April-May in Trieste.
Produced by British company Curious Film, A Sarajevo Story by Denijal Hasanovic has set a budget of 1,2 million euros and is seeking co-producers to join Forum Sarajevo (Bosnia) and Gral Film (Croatia). For its part, Benek by Robert Glinski (who stood out with Hi, Tereska in 2001) is a Polish Apple Films production. Many partners are already at the heart of project (Austrian Epo Film, British Film and Music Entertainmentand the Media Programme) who are targeting a budget of 1,3 million euros. As for Illegal Gardens by Goran Rebic, it’s an Austrian production Amour Fou Filmproduktion with a budget of 2 millions euros.
