European Festivals debate digital film

The European Coordination of Film Festivals organises tomorrow at the ISELP (Institut Supérieur pour l'Etude du Langage Plastique) in Brussels a day of presentations and debates on "digital film".

The event, which begins with a presentation by George Bollon, European Coordination of Film Festivals' President and Costa Daskalakis, head of Unit for the MEDIA programme of the European Union, has a raft of international guests, film and audiovisual professionals who will share their perspectives on the topic.
Pierre-Paul Renders, who has just finished shooting his latest film , Comme Tout le Monde [+see also:

, will reveal his experience as a filmmaker using digital technologies. Fréderic Young, director of SACD Belgium will look at ‘digital piracy’, whereas Cineuropa's partner Europanet will be represented by Romano Fattorossi who will lecture about film promotion online. The distributors' point of view will be defended by Joe Dreier, director of Hollywood Classics (London).

Also in the programme, the presence of several representatives from international festivals such as Luca Rafaelli (International Animated Film Festival - Italy), Tony Jones (Cambridge Film Festival – UK) and also Mira Sanders (Argos Film Festival – Belgium).
The day will end with the screening of Das Kabinett des Doktor Caligari, a German expressionist film which Robert Wiene directed in 1920. Christian Leroy and José Bedeur will provide the musical accompaniment.
