Headrush finally released

by

After two years in the can, the Irish/UK/Dutch co-production Headrush will finally be released today in 10 cinemas in Ireland. Zanzibar Films, the production company of the film headed by Edwina Forkin and the director of the film Shimmy Marcus, will release it themselves nationwide.

Back in 1999, Marcus had won the Miramax Script Writing Award for Headrush which was then produced in 2002 by Forkin and co-produced by Christine Alderson from Ipso Facto in the UK and Marc Bary from Ijswater Films in the Netherlands. The black comedy about two men who hope to solve their problems by working for a notorious local gangster, was also supported by the Irish Film Board (IFB) under the provisions of its low budget initiative for films under 1 million euros.

The film’s soundtrack includes three original tunes by the Fun Lovin’ Criminals, and two from U2.
Headrush was released in the Benelux in 2003 and international sales are handled by Media Luna Entertainment.
