Selected for competition in Locarno, Claire Devers Les Marins Perdus may reach Italy’s shores soon. Distributed in France by Vision (who is also handling international sales), and in Switzerland by Montblanc, Devers’ fifth feature film was picked up by Benelux, Greece, Corea and Taiwan. “We have only begun talks with Italy and so there’s nothing definite just yet,” said Massimo Soidel, head of sales at Vision. “All I can say at the present time is that we are talking to an important distributor who is not here in Locarno.”
Les Marins Perdus, which is scheduled to put in an appearance in Montreal and perhaps also in Toronto, was produced by Maurice Bernart in partnership with Salomé, Arte France Cinéma and Studio Canal for a November 2003 release in France and Switzerland.
