Les Aiguilles rouges deep in the Alps
Third day of shooting in Chamonix for Les Aiguilles rouges by Jean-François Davy, a dramatic mountain adventure set in the Mont Blanc nature reserve which gives the film its title. Retracing four days spent in the Alps by a scout group in the 60s, the film’s cast includes Damien Jouillerot (Les Fautes d’Ortographe), Jonathan Demurger, Jules-Angelo Bigarnet, César Domboy, Clément Chébli and Jules Sitruk (Vipère au poing, Moi César, 10 ans 1/2, 1m39). Several other French personalities will appear, such as Rufus, Bernadette Laffont and Patrick Bouchitey. Co-written by a trio composed of the director, Gaia Guasti and Elisabeth Diot, the screenplay is based on a true story, a holiday for eight scouts aged between 13-16 years who find themselves deep in the mountains when one of them suffers a terrible accident.
Based in Chamonix for an eight-week shoot, Les Aiguilles rouges is produced by the company Opening Production which is headed by the director himself, and has a budget of around 5 million euros including support from Rhône-Alpes Cinéma. Expected in April 2006, the theatrical release will be handled by Opening Distribution unless a deal is found with a larger distributor.
