Honors in Manila

For the 7th edition, the Manila International Film Festival (also called Cinemanila), which is establishing itself as one of the most innovative festivals in Asia, dedicates a week to Belgian films, for the first time.

To launch this new panorama of two cinemas judged to be currently the most interesting, Belgian cinema will be honoured first (followed by Korean cinema). Certainly, since the beginning, Belgian production has always been present at the event, but this "Belgian Cinema Week at Manila" confirms once more the current interest in Belgian cinema with the screening of 11 films (La femme de Gille [+see also:

Installed this year in the heart of the Philippine capital at Malate in the superb Manila Bay, the Festival has increased in size and lasts several weeks. The programme includes, other than two weeks dedicated to original cinema, an international symposium on co-production and the relationships between independent filmmakers from Europe, Asia and America (North and South) which will be held on the famous Boracay island, a series of 14 previews of films new to Asia and an international competition at the beginning of October.
