The Flemish Audiovisual Fund, cinema association put in place by the Minister for Flemish Culture, will invest 800 000 euros in four very promising features.

Director Stijn Coninx returns behind the camera after Verder dan de maan (Au-delà de la lune), made in 2003. Dominique, this new project produced by Jan van Raemdonck for Kunst & Kino and written by Chris Vander Stappen, received aid of 150 000 euros. This will be the sixth feature by Stijn Coninx, whose first two films were very popular, (Hector - 1987, Koko Flanel - 1990) and then Daens, his third feature, which won him a nomination for the Oscars in 1992.

Skyline Entertainment starts out on an adventure once more with Frank Van Mechelen, for De hel van Tanger, written by Paul Piedfort (250 000 euros). The Intruder (De Indriger), the first film by the young director, also produced by Skyline, continues to do very well. After a flying start at the Belgian box office (180 000 admissions), a selection in official competition at the Montréal World Film Festival (article du 26/08), it will once more be in official competition in Hamburg Hamburg Film Festival (22-29 September).

Produced by Roses are blue Films, Gevangen by Hilde Van Mieghem, from a screenplay written by Hugo Van Laere, received aid of 200 000 euros. It’s the second feature De Kus(Le Baiser, made last year) from an actress who will soon star in the next film by Dominique Deruddere, Lune de Guerre [+see also:

Finally Vidange perdue by Geoffrey Enthoven from a screenplay co-written by Jacques Boon, received the sum of 199 900 euros, the only French language project supported by the VAF. Produced by Mariano Vanhoof, faithful accomplice of Enthoven since his first short, for Fobic Films, Vidange perdue is the second feature following on from the well-received Les Enfants de l'Amour made in 2001.
