Hector candidate for the Buñuel Award

Hector, the fifth film by Gracia Querejeta was the Spanish title chosen to compete for the Luis Buñuel Award for the best Iberian-American film. The 10.000 euros award was created by Fipca (Federación Iberoamericana de Productores Cinematográficos y Audiovisuales) and EGEDA (Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales) and the winner will be announced at the Viña del Mar Festival (Chile), which will run from the 13th and the 15th October.

Produced by Elías Querejeta Producciones, Dea Planeta and Ensueño Films, Hector is a family story which received four Goya nominations: best promising actor (Nilo Mur), best promising actress (Núria Gago), best male supporting role (2005 Shooting Star Unx Ugalde) and best original song, composed by Ángel Illarramendi. Before the Goya these prizes to the youngest members of the cast, the seventh edition of the Malaga Film Festival, which is exclusively dedicated to Spanish film, had already given the Silver Biznaga for the best actress to Adriana Azores and the Golden Biznaga to director Gracia Querejeta.

and Roma' y 'Tiovivo C.1950. The last Spanish film to receive the Buñuel Award was Fernando León de Aranoa's Los Lunes al Sol.
