The European Film Promotion (EFP) umbrella office, organised within the framework of the American Film Market (AFM) will host this year ‘25 European companies’. The event, to take place in Santa Monica (California) between the 2nd and the 9th of November, will be an occasion to meet American film professionals and to foster links between the American and the European film industries.

Organised with the support of the MEDIA programme since 1998, the EFP office will host for the first time a Polish company (Bares & Baron Media Productions), as well as other three production companies and international sales agents from Czech Republic (CP 2000 World Sales) and Hungary (Glamour Filmgyárto Kft, and GrantFilm). However, the increased eastern European presence is still smaller than the British contingent, which includes 10 companies, among them EastWest Film Distribution, managing the sales of the documentary Totally Personal, which is the Bosnian entry for the Foreign Language Film Academy Award. The second biggest contingent comes from Spain (5 companies, including Magic Films, Notro Films, Zahorimedia, Elegant Mob Films and La Mirada Producciones) and the third is Belgium (PPA – Walter Ertvelt bvba, and Karma Films). Aso attending the AFM are Subotica Entertainment (Ireland), Smile Entertainment (Denmark), Holland Film and the Austrian Film Commission.

The AFM hosts over 7000 film executives every year. Claudia Landsberger, EFP president, expressed her excitement about the forthcoming event: "We are looking forward to EFP's meeting at the AFM. Every year the participants benefit from the network support and have the chance to meet potential partners for the future".
