Three local productions are making a splash among the Spanish public, announcing this autumn as a good period for national film production. Torrente 3 : The protector, Frágiles and 7 Virgins are in the top 5 of the local box office, sharing their positions with the French-American film Transporter 2 (in 2nd position) and with the American title An unfinished life (in 4th position).

Torrente 3 : El protector reached the top when it opened on the 30th of September and has remained there until now, beating the excellent results of the previous two titles in the Torrente series. Distributed by UIP, the Amiguetes Entertainment production attracted nearly 4 million moviegoers, grossing a total of 16.053.382 euros. Santiago Seguro, actor, producer and director of the film, might start work soon on a fourth film.
Released by Filmax on the 14th of October, Frágiles, reaches third position with 801.331 moviegoers and grossing 816.316 euros. Juame Balagueró's new thriller is a co-production between Spain (Castelao Productions and Just Films) and the UK (Future Film) starring the American actress Calista Flockhart.
Finally, 7 Virgins occupies the fifth position. After the success in San Sebastian - where Juan José Ballesta was awarded the Silver Shell for Best Actor - Alberto Rodríguez's new film has attracted 761.526 moviegoers since its release on the 14th October. Produced by Tesela and La Zanfoña, 7 Virgins is distributed by Alta Films and international sales are managed by Sogepaq.
