OSCARS 2006 Estonia

Shop of Dreams in the race

by

Peeter Urbla’s Shop of Dreams produced by Anneli Ahven (see the interview) for Exitfilm is the Estonia entry for the 2006 Oscars nomination.
Described as a humorous poignant but ultimately life-affirming film about women love and life, the film tells the story of 25-year-old Alice, a costume designer who comes back to Tallinn after a holiday break in Portugal. She soon finds out that the TV studios she worked for have gone bankrupt. She and her two friends Ada, a seamstress and Yana, a make-up artist are out of a job. Alice talks them into starting a new company which can provide people with everything they need to make their dreams come true.
