Swiss cinema is well represented at the 2e Séville Contemporary European Film Festival (4 - 12 November), where the nominations for the European film prize will be announced. Also proposed for the Oscars, the Swiss candidate– Tout un hiver sans feu (An Entire winter without fire) by Greg Zglinski – features in the Europa Europa sections, like the big success Alles auf Zuckers [+see also:

The section Génération Europe welcomes White Terror by Daniel Schweizer (Dschoint Ventschr ), last in the trilogy dedicated to the skinhead movement, while four other documentaries are screened under Eurodoc: Katzenball by Veronika Minder (Cobra Films), L’accord (The Agreement) by Nicolas Wadimoff and Béatrice Guelpa (Akka Film), Vivre en paix (Live in Peace) by Antoine Cattin and Pavel Kostomarov as well as the minority co-production Die grosse Stille by Philip Gröning (Ventura Films). Finally, the thriller Strähl, a feature by Manuel Flurin Hendry (Dschoint Ventschr), screens in the section Shooting Stars in the presence of the young principal actress, Johanna Bantzer.

Ten Swiss films are to be found too at the Documentary and Video Film Festival at Kassel, from the 8 - 13 November. Also Katzenball is alongside other documentaries such as Building the Gherkin by Mirjam von Arx (ican films), Opernfieber by Katharina Rupp (maximage) and Coca – La colombe de Tchétchénie (Coca – the Chechen dove) by Eric Bergkraut (Doc Productions).
