Tomorrow sees the start of the 14th Vendôme festival organised by the APCVL (Atelier de Production Centre Val de Loire) and dedicated to the the creation of cinema aided by the collective territories of Europe . Running till the 12th December, a very dense programme will offer notably a series of professional meetings, a competition with fifty short and medium films, a panorama of first and second features and a tribute to the Belgian organisation Wallimage with screenings of The child [+see also:

Industry-wise, there will be a co-production workshop set up by ACE (European Cinema Workshops) which will bring together on the 5th, 6th and 7th December four French producers (Bandonéon, Les Films d’Antoine, Avenue B and Les Films au Long Cours), two British (whateverpictures and Wellington Films) and two Belgian (Libris Films and Versus Production) who will each present a feature susceptible to co-production.

As for films which have been aided by the collective territories of Europe, the Vendôme festival has composed a diversified menu with GEspenter from German Christian Petzold, La terre abandonnée by Vimukthi Jayasundara, The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes by British Stephen and Timoty Quay, Uno by Norwegian Askel Hennie (nominated at the EFA 2005 in the category European Film Academy Discovery), Voici venu le temps [+see also:
