by Boyd van Hoeij
Dutch writer-director Jean van de Velde (Floris [+see also:

Actor Daniël Boissevain, a Van de Velde regular, plays the lead role in the film which will focus on the years between 1974 and 1979. The self-professed rock ’n roll junkie was discovered in these years by Koos van Dijk, who would become his manager. The film will chronicle their relationship as they go from virtual unknowns to a local rock and roll phenomenon; they dream of becoming famous in the USA. Van Dijk is played by Marcel Hensema (06/05 [+see also:

Wild romance is produced by M4ALL with financing from commercial broadcaster RTL, the Dutch Film Fund and the private investment opportunity Film-CV. It will be released by Independent Films Nederland in November of 2006, five years after the death by suicide of Brood, who jumped of the roof of an Amsterdam hotel; it is also the month in which he would have turned 60. The shoot can be followed on the website wildromancedefilm.nl.
