Prague shooting of Bond film confirmed

by

It is stamped and sealed. The latest in the James Bond films, Casino Royale, will be filming in Prague, from early next year.
Barrandov Studios’ spokesperson Dusana Chrenekova confirmed that the 21st in the series of Bond films will be filming in Czech Republic for six months. Shooting for its biggest part will take place in the Barrandov facilities and later on location in the country’s Northwest.
Stillking Films, who are the film’s local producers, have said that the project could be a big boost to much needed foreign film production in the country. Czech Republic had been the main destination for predominantly US and European filmmakers searching for a cheaper yet technically advanced location in Europe but it has been suffering lately through stiff competition from Romanian, Hungarian and Bulgarian studios and locations.
Casino Royale, directed by Martin Campbell and starring Daniel Craig as Bond and Charlize Theron, is expected to premiere in theatres in November 2006.
