Produced by Gilles Sandoz (see interview) for Maïa Films, with the support of ARTE Fiction, the film, starring Louis Garrel (the director’s son) and Clotilde Hesme, was released in the French theatres on October 26 by Ad Vitam. Sold internationally by Films Distribution, Regular Lovers will be released on January 13 in Austria and April 28 in the UK. As for the filmmaker (see interview), he has already begun writing his next film, together with Arlette Langmann, entitled Une plume pour Carole, to be produced by Rectangle Productions.

Presided over by Gilles Jacob, the Louis Delluc Jury Prize selected Anthony Cordier’s Douches froides (o.t. Cold Showers) as Best Debut Film. Produced Why Not, sold internationally by Wild Bunch and selected at the last Cannes Directors Fortnight, this debut feature had a 1.92m euro budget, including a 420,000 euro advance from the National Film Centre (CNC), a pre-sales agreement with Canal + and TPS, and 145,000 euro in aid from the "Region Centre" (French Regional Film Fund). Released in French cinemas on June 22 by Bac Films, Douches froides (starring Johan Libéreau, Salomé Stévenin and Pierre Perrier) has been sold to Switzerland (Frenetic), Hungary (Best Hollywood) and Portugal (New Age). It will come out on January 26, 2006 in Holland (Paradiso).
