Scamarcio Italian nominee

Riccardo Scamarcio is the Italian nominee for the Shooting Star 2006, which will see 20 young, emerging European actors vying for the prize during next February’s Berlin Film Festival.

The competition, organized byEuropean Film Promotion, is a three-day platform dedicated to launching emerging actors from various European countries onto the international scene.

Scamarcio debuted in 2003 with Three Steps Over Heaven (o.t.Tre metri sopra il cielo) by Luca Lucini, which won him a Golden Globe Award as Best Debut Actor. His other films include I>The Best of Youth by Marco Tullio Giordana (Altadis Award, Un certain Regard at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival), Now or Never (o.t. Ora o mai più) by Lucio Pellegrini (in competition at Locarno in 2003), Texas by Fausto Paravidino (winner of the Pasinetti Award at the 2005 Venice Film Festival), L'uomo perfetto by Luca Lucini and Romanzo Criminale by Michele Placido.
