Rotterdam reveals information

The Rotterdam International Film Festival has announced some of the titles that will compete from January 25th to February 5th in its 35th edition. For the time being, four out of the six films announced are European.

We will have to take a national production into account: Northern Light (Langer licht) by David Lammers, produced by Motel Films (read news). The film, which is the first feature film by the young awarded by his short-films-director, already has 1 More Film to work as the distributor.

Another European film, La leyenda del tiempo ("The Legend of Time") by Isaki Lacuesta, whose title is inspired by the album from the flamenco singer Camarón de la Isla. This Spanish production from Mallerich Films is a documentary fiction about the Spanish music legend. Coming out of the UK and produced by Wild Horses Film Company, Rotterdam will present Song of Songs, Josh Appignanesi’s feature film, where Nathalie Press (the beautiful Mona from My summer of love [+see also:

) discovers the troubles of fear in the London ultra orthodox circles. We must not forget Ode to Joy, a film composed of 3 short-films by 3 young Polish talents : Anna Kazejak-Dawid, Jan Komasa and Maciej Migas, produced by Akson Studio in association with Agencja Produkcji Filmowej, Canal+ Polska and Telewizja Polska (TVP) S.A..

The other two films in competition have been supported by the Hubert Bals Fund: Walking on the Wild Side (Lai xiao zi)by Han Jie, produced by Chinese Jia Zhang-ke, and the Uruguayan film The Dog Pound (La perrera) by Manuel Nieto. The rest of the films will be announced at the beginning of next year
