Baftas’ New Rising Stars contenders unveiled

The nominees for the new ‘Orange Rising Star Award’ to be handed out during the Bafta Awards ceremony on February 19 in London, have just been announced. James McAvoy is with Chiwetel Ejiofor one of the two UK actors competing against Canadian actress Rachel McAdams, US actress Michelle Williams and Mexican-born Gael Garcia Bernal for the new award.

James McAvor, the 26 year-old Scottish actor plays Mr Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe and will soon appear in Kevin Macdonald’s The Last King of Scotland alongside Gillian Anderson.
Chiwetel Ejiofor who gave a stunning performance as a cabaret artist in Julian Jarrold’s comedy Kinky Boots also starred notably in Serenity, Love Actually [+see also:
