Berlin buying frenzy for NonStop

Nordic distribution company NonStop Entertainment has had a productive festival, picking up no less than nine films in Berlin, including German mainstream title The Elementary Particles [+see also:

Competition title The Elementary Particles was bought from Celluloid Dreams along with two other film: two-time Sundance award winner Quinceañera, about two teenage Latino boys in Los Angeles, and the thriller The Aura [+see also:

by Argentinean director Fabian Bielinsky (Nine Queens).

Chinese film Little Red Flowers by Zhang Yuan (East Palace, West Palace), presented in Berlin’s Panorama section, was bought from Fortissimo Film Sales, and the French comedy Not Here To Be Loved [+see also:

(Je ne suis pas là pour être aimé) by Stéphane Brizé, a three-time nominee at the upcoming Cesar Awards on February 25 was bought from Rezo Films International.

Other titles include Australian film Jindabyne by Ray Lawrence (Lantana), which will premiere in Cannes, the two horror films One Missed Call 3: Final and Tomie, and US comedy Strangers With Candy, starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

"With a successful 2005 behind us and a brilliant start for 2006, NonStop Entertainment has further strengthened its line-up with these new acquisitions," said Managing Director Ignas Scheynius. "We are very happy to have picked up some real gems in Berlin and to be able to offer Nordic audiences some of the most exciting titles on the market".
