A mini MEDIA Programme for Rumania
by Cineuropa
The Rumanian Ministry for Finance has just issued a call for tenders for the implementation of a technical assistance office that will help the Rumanian National Centre of Cinematography manage an aid programme for the country’s professional filmmakers. This trial programme, based on the European Union’s MEDIA Programme, will make it possible for Rumanian professionals to familiarize themselves with the mechanisms of MEDIA. Financed by the EU’s PHARE Programme (which offers assistance to Eastern European and applicant countries), the office will have to manage three separate funds: €350,000 for training, €300,000 for project development and €250,000 for the support of non-domestic film distribution in Rumania.
