Local films hit jackpot at B.O.

Denmark continues to ride a fantastic wave of domestic successes with three films in last weekend’s Top 5. Niels Arden Oplev’s We Shall Overcome [+see also:

, which won a Crystal Bear Award at Berlin’s Kinderfilmfest section last February, took the top position with 125,628 admissions from 60 screens in its second week.

In third place is Susanne Bier’s new drama After the Wedding [+see also:

, currently the biggest Danish hit of the year with over 330,000 admissions. Both films were released by Nordisk Film / Zentropa and are being sold by Trust Film Sales.

Hot docs EFP inside

In fourth position, with a total 160,000 admissions, is Anders Østergaard’s Gasolin, the most popular documentary ever shown in Danish cinemas (see news). In its fourth week of release, the film, distributed by Sandrew Metronome - Cosmo Film, is still being shown on 41 Danish screens.

The market share of Danish films will certainly continue its amazing upwards trend with today’s release (by Nordisk Film) of Berlin’s two time award-winner A Soap [+see also:
