The Pompidou Centre in Paris is giving carte blanche to Jean-Luc Godard from today. In addition to a retrospective of his films, the Swiss director’s life and work will be exhibited in no less than nine halls of the Pompidou centre. The exhibition, entitled "Voyages en utopie, Jean-Luc Godard, 1946 – 2006", (April 26-August 14), will focus on the methods of close-ups and the editing of images taken from the history of art and cinema, the present day and the director’s own films.
