23 titles for European Producers Club

The traditional Co-production forums, organised as part of the Cannes Film Festival by the European Producers Club, will take place on Sunday May 21 from 1-6:30 pm at the French Film Commission stand at the Espace Pantiero (International Village). The program includes 23 films chosen by a select jury of top professionals (see news), with Alexandra by Alexandre Sokourov heading the bill.

Films fortunate enough to be chosen include Riparo by Italy’s Marco Puccioni (Adesif Productions, France); Black Night, scripted by Sylvestre Sbille (AT Production, Belgium); The Paradox by Alfredo Ereno (BocaBoca Producciones, Spain); Rangers in Reserve by Ivan Nichev (Cinemascope, Bulgaria); Finno-Ugrian Vampire by Janos Szecsi (Eurofilm Studio, Hungary); The Other Woman by Lola Randl (Icon Film, Germany); Bad Games by David Carreras (Castelao Productions/Filmax Entertainment, Spain); Bluebird by Hassan Yektapanah, (leBrocquy Fraser Productions, Ireland); Not Before and Not After by Sharunas Bartas (Lazennec, France); Le Parfum du Mois by Florence Strauss (Mazel Productions, France); A Rose for Maria by Pilar Anguita-Mackay (Olympia Films, Switzerland); Amanda by Ivano de Matteo (Orisa Produzioni, Italy); No Fucking Handball by Uberto Pasolini (Redwave Films, UK) and Marianna by Alfonso Arau (Sintra Film, Italy).

Producers, international sales companies and distributors not presenting any films but nonetheless taking part include Celluloid Dreams, Arte France Cinéma, Wide Management, Pathé Renn Productions, RAI Cinema and Prokino Filmverleih.

Lastly, the line-up features two films selected this year in the Un Certain Regard sidebar that were also presented at the co-production forums of the European Producers Club in Berlin in 2003 and in Barcelona in 2004: Salvador Puig Antich [+see also:
