New films from Cantet, Assayas and Bouchareb

Several announcements were made this Saturday morning at the Cannes Film Festival. French outfit Haut et Court said that they would be making Laurent Cantet’s next film, an adaptation of Entre les murs (lit. "Between the Walls"), the story of a French teacher working in a school in a difficult neighbourhood of Paris, which is scheduled to go into production in the summer of 2007.

Also in the pipeline from Haut et Court is the screen adaptation by Olivier Assayas of the bestseller La poursuite du bonheur, co-written by US novelist Douglas Kennedy. The director will begin filming in 2008, as first he has to shoot Boarding Gate this summer.

in official competition this year, unveiled the subject of his next feature: the life of reggae star Bob Marley. Bouchareb is currently writing the film's script.
