Ischia: Treasure island

The Ischia Film Festival, dedicated to film locations, will be held June 13-24.

The 26 films in the four competition sections (Italian films, foreign films, documentaries and short films) include Fuoco su di me (lit. “Fire on Me”) by Lamberto Lambertini, The Wedding Director by Marco Bellocchio, Cave of the Yellow Dog di Byambasuren Dava (Germany) and Dutch title Zielen Van Naples by Vincent Monnikendam.

The festival will open with a special screening of Antonio, guerriero di Dio by Antonello Belluco, while a parallel section, Focus on German cinema, will offer four films that have positively depicted contemporary Germany: Goodbye Lenin! [+see also:

by Wolfgang Becker, Run, Lola, Run by Tom Tykwer, Wings of Desire by Wim Wenders, and Kebab Connection, previously unreleased in Italy, by Anno Saul. “Particular attention is being paid to films about Berlin, the city that underwent the most profound changes in the country,” said festival Artistic Director Michelangelo Messina.

The films will be screened at beautiful locations around Ischia, such as Castello Aragonese, Villa Rizzoli at Lacco Ameno and the Colombaia, the historical residence of Luchino Visconti. The programmed events will also include two conferences on CineTurismo.
