Two low-budget Belgian debut films in cinemas

by Karim Ouelhaj has finally arrived on screens.

Produced by the self-taught director very quickly and without any funding, this bitter and seething debut feature – Ouelhaj´s breakthrough film (see article) – is being released by Cinéart-Cinélibre.

The second Belgian release of the week is Guillaume Malandrin´s debut feature, I Don´t Care If Tomorrow Never Comes. The film, already screened at several festivals before being presented at the ACID Days at Cannes (see interview), is being released by BFD (BFD) in one theatre in Brussels.

These two debut and self-produced features owe their theatrical releases to their festival screenings and glowing reviews from critics.

In total, 11 new films open in Belgian theatres this week, including two French titles: The Page Turner [+see also:

Meanwhile, German sea thriller Adrift directed by Hans Horn and produced by Kinepolis Film Distribution also arrives on Belgian screens.
