Supported by the European Cultural Foundation, DOKO YOMI intends to increase intercultural and artistic collaboration between young people living in Kosovo and its neighbouring regions, and in an enlarged Europe.

More precisely, by involving participants from Albania, the former Yugoslavia and the EU, DOKO YOMI want to bring together young people and artists by having them collaborate on a creative audiovisual project. Through this workshop, the budding filmmakers will discover how to pass on, via images and sounds, Kosovo’s multi-cultural identity and everyday reality.

The project will be open to 15 young adults living in Kosovo and four of its neighbouring regions, tutored by young European filmmakers, members of the NISI MASA network. In October, during the 15-day workshop, participants will write, shoot and edit a series of five short films on local teenagers and youngsters (10-18 years old).

During the workshop, public screenings and discussions will also be held and, as soon as it is over, the short films will tour in several southeastern European cities as well as across the EU. Locally, three other organisations will be partners on the project: Atelier Varan Belgrade (Serbia), Kult I Lire (Albania) and POGON (Macedonia).

DOKO YOMI is open to young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 living in Albania and the following former Yugoslavian countries: Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. Applications can be downloaded here and must be submitted no later than August, 15, 2006 to dokoyomi@nisimasa.com and shtatearte@yahoo.com
