Jørgen Ramskov from DFI to Nimbus Film

As of September 1, Jørgen Ramskov, currently the Head of Production and Development at the Danish Film Institute, will become the new Head of Administration for Denmark’s third largest production company, Nimbus Film. He will work alongside the three co-owners: Birgitte Hald and Bo Ehrhardt (who co-founded the company together in 1993) and filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg.

“It’s an enormous and exciting challenge for me to soon be working with a team that produces strong artistic films with wide audience potential”, said Ramskov.

Nimbus – which has established long-term relationships with over 15 filmmakers, including Vinterberg, Dagur Kári, Søren-Kragh Jacobsen, Nikolaj Arcel and Ole Christian Madsen and is permanently seeking out new talents, such as the recent double-winner in Berlin, Pernille Fischer Christensen – has a faithful team of seven in-house producers. , Morten Kaufmann (Mifune) and Birgitte Skov (Dark Horse). The company’s philosophy is to tell moving stories with a universal appeal and artistic and social integrity.

Recent projects produced by Nimbus that will soon open in Denmark include Arcel’s Danish/Swedish/German/UK co-production The Island of Lost Souls (release date: September 2), Prague by Madsen (release date: November 3), and Danish/Norwegian thriller Cecilie by the director of Catch That Girl Hans Fabian Wullenweber (release date: November 17).

Vinterberg is also busy filming his first Danish-language film in years, A Man Comes Home, based on an original script by the director, Mogens Rukov and Kim Fupz Aakeson.
