Oliver Parker makes I Really Hate My Job

With I Really Hate My Job currently shooting on location and in London’s Three Mills Studios, UK filmmaker Oliver Parker is having a break from his usual screen adaptations of literary classics such as An Ideal Husband (starring Cate Blanchett and Julianne Moore) or The Importance of Being Earnest (starring Rupert Everett) yet remains faithful to the same genre: the witty comedy.

Based on an original script by Jennifer Higgie, the editor of the world’s leading contemporary arts magazine Frieze, the film focuses on the lives of five feisty waitresses stuck in a second rate London restaurant with delusions of grandeur. ), Anna Maxwell Martin (Becoming Jane) and Oana Pellea (Children of Men) – have to face a rat infestation, a coup d’état in the kitchen and bitter arguments about life and art. But all is overshadowed by the frenzied anticipation surrounding a reservation by a famous Hollywood movie star.
