23 German films at the 22nd Warsaw F.F.

Four German productions and co-productions are showing in the competitive sections of the 22nd Warsaw International Film Festival (October 6-15): Longing [+see also:

) by Valeska Grisebach, Valerie by Birgit Moeller and Contact by Sergej Stanojkovski (DE/MK) are participating in the New Films, New Directors Competition while Absolute Wilson by Katharina Otto-Bernstein (US/Germany) will be presented in the Documentary Competition.

For the fifth year, the Warsaw festival will be presenting the German Panorama sidebar section, in collaboration with German Films. Featuring a total of 19 titles, the section will open on October 7 with Requiem [+see also:

Documentaries will be represented by Otto-Bernstein’s Absolute Wilson, Balordi by Mirjam Kubescha (Germany/Italy), The Unknown Soldier by Michael Verhoeven and Veruschka by Paul Morrissey (Germany/US). The short film Vincent by Giulio Ricciarelli will be shown in addition to the short film programme NEXT GENERATION 2006.

Schmid, Verhoeven, Kubescha, Otto-Bernstein, Moeller and Michel are all scheduled to present their films in Warsaw.

As part of the CentEast Market, which is associated with the festival, Media Desk Polska and Media Antenne Berlin-Brandenburg will be organising the seminar entitled "From script development to post- and co-production" on October 13.
