Shooting of Installation of Love ends

by

Shooting of Installation of Love, the second feature film by director and co-scriptwriter Maja Weiss, was successfully brought to an end on September 17. The film is being made with the support of the Filmski Sklad RS/ Slovenian Film Fund and in co-production with RTV Slovenia, Iluzija (Ljubljana), and Taris Film (Germany), while the main producer is Ida Weiss for Bela Film.

Installation of Love is a comical drama about love and art. The artist Miloš helps Mojca find love again with the help of art installation and in a cruel way. Thus, Mojca finds a reason to live and Miloš gets his artistic satisfaction with this new installation. Everything is fine until we find out that this is only a story within the film, which was shot by the crew, all of whom are merely actors.

This film marks the return to the screen after a significant absence of the beautiful Bernarda Oman, who plays Mojca. Oman has graced numerous Slovenian films with her performances (Love is the Ruin of Us All, To the Limit and Beyond, Heritage, the series Trubar), as well as a series by one of Croatia’s greatest directors, Antun Vrdoljak (The Glembaj Family, Long Dark Night). The role of Miloš belongs to leading Slovenian actor Igor Samobor, the star of the Ljubljana Drama School.

The production designer is Dušan Milavec, whose 30 year career includes the Academy Award-winning No Man’s Land. Installation of Love is to be edited by Germany’s Peter Braatz, who also edited Guardian of the Frontier and has worked with David Lynch and Wim Wenders, among others. US musician Chris Eckman, the front man of The Walkabouts, is writing a score specifically for the film.
