Television and cinema join forces
The 12th International Film and Television - Tout Ecran Festival , supported by the MEDIA Programme, is taking place in Geneva from October 30-November 5.
Open to fiction projects made for both the big and small screen, the international competition is hosting three European films, among others: Thick as Thieves by Switerland's Lionel Baier, Diep by Dutch helmer Simone Van Dusseldorp and The Optimists [+see also:

A section entitled Grand cinéaste sur petit écran will feature a tribute to Ken Loach, showing the often forgotten television films of one of cinema's biggest names.
Cinéma Tout Ecran is also organising a workshop, entitled Work in Progress, intended to give a helping hand to six projects in the funding stage. Through the screening of scenes already filmed, directors and producers will then pitch the projects before a floor for international producers, buyers and distributors. Approximately forty professionals are expected to attend this year's event.
The Geneva Select Market – the only market for fiction projects in Switzerland – is proposing a conference on new means of broadcasting audiovisual programmes (Internet, video on demand, mobile phones, etc.), while Israeli director Amos Gitaï will hold a master class.
