CO-PRODUCTIONS Italy

European Cinema Days back in Turin

by

October 31 marks the last day of registration for the fourth edition of the European Cinema and Audiovisual Days, the main professional gathering in Italy dedicated to creativity and independent European films.

The event, which will take place in Turin from November 9-11, offers co-development and co-production forums for fiction, documentary and animation projects, conferences, presentations and master-classes, with the participation of professionals from all throughout Italy and those European countries with a strong and structured audiovisual industry, such as France, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany.

For the first time this year, the Days are opening their doors to Eastern Europe, and will host producers and directors from Slovenia and Croatia (the former is already a member and the latter a candidate of the MEDIA Programme).

One of the more interesting moments of the co-production meeting includes the presentation of one of the most important production companies working in France today (and on the European level), Agat Films, represented by one of its founders, director Robert Guédiguian, who will be interviewed by Patrice Vivancos. Swiss DoP Renato Berta, who for approximately 40 years has worked with some of Europe’s most important filmmakers and is now in Lausanne on the set of his 89th film, will speak of his professional experiences.

The director of the Wallimage Fund, based in the French-speaking region of Walloon in Belgium, Philippe Reynaert, and the director of the CRRAV of the French region Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Vincent Leclercq, will explain the methods of international collaboration between the French and Belgian film industries (the most recent, Cages by Olivier Masset-Depasse, was presented last week at the RomeFilmFest), in a discussion led by Gaetano Stucchi.
