by Thomas Imbach are in the running for the Golden Owl at the 20th Leeds International Film Festival (November 2-12).

Screened for the first time in the UK, Lenz opens in Germany through Freunde der deutschen Kinemathek on November 30 and in Austria through Filmladen in February.

Imbach’s film is based on the unfinished eponymous novel by Georg Büchner, which recounts the romantic quest of a Berlin filmmaker lost in the Swiss mountains; a film that reflects on creativity, with cinematography by Jürg Hassler.

Three Swiss documentaries will also screen at Leeds: EXIT: The Right to Die by Fernand Melgar (Climage), A Crude Awakening – The Oil Crash by Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack (Lava Productions) in the Cinema versa section, as well as the co-production Into Great Silence [+see also:
