98 Octanas by Veteran Portuguese director Fernando Lopes will be screening out of competition in official selection at the Turin Film Festival, which runs through November 18.

The film, produced by Paulo Branco's Portuguese outfit Clap Filmes and released locally by Atalanta on September 14, is a love story and road movie on the unexpected relationship between a man (Rogério Samora) and a woman (Carla Chambel) who accidentally meet on the highway (see news).

However, 98 Octanas is not the only title produced by Branco to screen in the Italian festival. Also out of competition is Le Prestige de la Mort by Luc Moullet, produced by Paris-based Gémini Films, about a filmmaker who decides to change his passport to one belonging to a dead body found on the street.

Finally, the competition section features Zina Modiano's second feature film, La vie privée, produced by both Clap and Gémini and based on the novel The Private Life by Henry James. Starring Ouassini Embarek, Darry Cowl and Claire Nadeau, the film will be distributed in France by Gémini.
