Stealth wins at Mannheim

The jury of the 55th Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival, which ended on November 25, presented its Special Award to Swiss feature Stealth [+see also:

The second feature by Lionel Baier, after 2004’s Stupid Boy [+see also:

, won for "its fantasy, authentic dialogues, and light-hearted superficiality [and] for the passionate discussions it provoked among the jury".

The young French-speaking director follows in the footsteps of fellow Swiss director Ruxandra Zenide, whose debut feature Ryna [+see also:

won the award in 2005.

Presented this autumn in international competition at the Montreal World, Geneva Tout Ecran and Seville European and Contemporary Film Festivals, the film is also one of the five films nominated for the 2007 Swiss Film Prize, which will be awarded in Soleure in January.
