Where Souls Go in post-production

by

Rainer Sarnet’s second feature film, Where Souls Go – produced by Anneli Ahven for Exit Film (Estonia) in co-production with Synchro Films (Austria) – has just finished shooting. Post-production will be split between the two co-production countries and the domestic release is set for the autumn 2007.

Last year, the €735,000 film was one of the projects submitted at the Baltic Event co-production market in Tallinn. Where Souls Go is the mysterious and romantic story of 16-year-old Ann who feels all alone in her family. In a fit of anger, Ann “prays” to Satan for her baby brother to die. As it happens, the baby becomes ill. Ann is gripped by feelings of guilt and wants to take back her prayer. She turns to the church, a psychic and a local band of Satanists. The infant does not improve but Ann makes a friend—someone to look out for.

Founded in 1992, Exit Film is owned by producer/director Peter Urbla and Zentropa Entertainment in Denmark. Urbla’s last feature film, Shop Of Dreams [+see also:
