was the third most popular film at the Irish box office in 2006 with over €3.7m, according to estimates from Carlton Screen Advertising/Nielsen EDI.

The Palme d’Or winning film starring Cillian Murphy and Padraic Delaney was released by Pathé last June and was for several months second on the Top 10 chart until the new James Bond adventures of Casino Royale [+see also:

took its place. Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest, the second epic story of Captain Jack Sparrow (a.k.a. Johnny Depp) was the most popular title of the year, but Irish audiences also fell for another irresistible irreverent character: Borat, currently number six at the local box office.
