New head of development for IFB

Andrew Meehan has been appointed Development Executive of the Irish Film Board. In this position, Meehan will work directly with Chief Executive Simon Perry in assessing the applications for feature film development funding.

He will also manage the projects selected for support and play a close consultative role on feature films, documentaries, and animated and short films submitted for production funding.

Meehan has eight years experience as a writer and script editor. He was recently a writer on the Sigma Films/Zentropa Films trilogy Advance Party, the first of which was Andrea Arnold's Red Road [+see also:

Before writing full-time, Meehan was head of development at Antonine Films (Orphans and Magdalene Sisters [+see also:

) in Glasgow.
