, one of last year’s box office hits.

Winner of the Lion of the Future at the Venice Film Festival and in competition at the Toronto, Thessaloniki and Sundance international film festivals, Khadak – the story of a young Mongolian shaman battling with his own spirituality and the rapid pace of modernisation in a Mongolia where exploitation is rampant – continues to garner attention and seems destined for a US release.

Co-produced by the regular partners of the directing duo and their production outfits, Bo Films, Ma.Ja.De Filmproduktions-GmbH (Germany) and Lemming Film (the Netherlands), the film is being sold internationally by Germany’s Telepool.

Contact Film will handle the title’s release in the Netherlands, Pegasos in Germany and Cineworx in Switzerland. After a preview screening at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels on February 16, Cinéart will distribute the film on Belgian screens on February 21.

Cineuropa will also soon dedicate a Focus to Khadak.
