Ein Lied für Argyris awarded in Thessaloniki
The ERT3 Audience Award of the ninth Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival went to Swiss title Ein Lied für Argyris by Stefan Haupt (Fontana Film).
Haupt, who previously directed the attention grabbing Elisabeth Kübler-Ross – Dem Tod ins Gesicht sehen (2003), this time presents a portrait of Argyris Sfountouris, whose family was murdered by the Germans in the Greek village of Distomo in June 1944.
Before its Greek release, scheduled by Filmtrade for the upcoming fall, the film will be distributed in May in Germany (Salzgeber) and in Switzerland by Frenetic Films. The film will also premiere on Austrian screens (Polyfilm) next summer.
