by Giuseppe Tornatore lead the pack at the 61st edition of the Nastri d’argento. The awards, chosen by the National Italian Film Journalists Union, will be presented on June 23 at the Teatro Antico in Taormina, Sicily.

The three Nastri d’argento for Personalities of the Year will go to directors Michele Placido, Fausto Brizzi and Gabriele Muccino, as well as a special Nastro to Dino Risi.

Following Moretti and Tornatore with six nominations are Marco Bellocchio’s The Wedding Director and Ferzan Ozpetek’s Saturno Contro.
