CANNES 2007 Events

EPC line-up includes Sorrentino, Palfi and Gorris

by

Twenty-two projects from 14 countries will be presented at the 28th Co-production Forum, an event organised by the European Producers Club (EPC), to be held on the afternoon of May 21 at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

Directors who will be looking for partners at the event include Italy’s Paolo Sorrentino (in competition at Cannes with his first two films), Hungary’s György Pálfi (see Special Report), promising Polish filmmaker Slawomir Fabicki (discovered at last year’s Un Certain Regard, see article) and Tawfik Abu Wael (FIPRESCI Prize at the 2004 Cannes Critics’ Week).

Other participants will be Dutch helmer Marleen Gorris, Belgium’s Micha Wald and Vincent Lannoo, and directors of projects initiated in Spain, the UK, France, Germany, Greece, Portugal and Norway.

Under the presidency of Jean Cazès and the direction of Alexandra Lebret, the EPC has changed its strategy this year by renaming the Forum "à la carte". The Club will now act as an intermediary in order to bring selected participants closer to potential co-production partners from countries that interest them the most.

Registration is open until May 14 for all producers who are interested in projects and wish to take part in the Forum.
