Wild Bunch ready to whip up storm at Cannes (2)

One of the leading world sales outfits in recent years, Wild Bunch will be presenting its attractive line-up at the Cannes Film Festival Market (May 16-27).

In addition to its selected films and new titles (see news), the French outfit will be selling a range of other titles at the Market.

These include projects in production, such as Steven Soderbergh’s Che, Pascal Laugier’s Martyrs (see article), Olivier Jean-Marie’s animated film Tous à l’ouest, une aventure de Lucky Luke (out December 5), Vera Belmont’s Survivre avec les loups (see news), which will be sold through a promo reel, and Gilles de Maistre’s documentary The First Cry.

Titles in post-production sold by Wild Bunch feature a whirlwind of promo reels including a 10-minute reel for Alain Corneau’s Second Wind (remake of J-P Melville’s film), starring Daniel Auteuil, Monica Bellucci and Michel Blanc); Marc Caro’s sci-fi thriller Dante 01, L’histoire de Richard O [+see also:

by Damien Odoul (see news) and Beyond The Years by Korea’s Im Kwon Taek.

Wild Bunch will also be selling Kevin MacDonald’s documentary My Enemy’s Enemy on the Nazi officer Klaus Barbie and will screen a teaser of Luc Jacquet’s The Fox and the Child, as well as footage of Howard McCain’s Outlander.

Samira Makhmalbaf will be onhand to show scenes from her film Two Legged Horse, whose shooting was interrupted after a violent attack on the set in Afghanistan.

Wild Bunch’s inexhaustible line-up also comprises Claude Chabrol’s safe bet La fille coupée en deux (see news) with Benoît Magimel, Ludivine Sagnier and François Berléand (out August 15).

Other titles are La Zona by Mexico’s Rodrigo Pla (Oscar for Best Short with El Ojo En La Nuca), Woody Allen’s Cassandra’s Dream [+see also:

, Buddhas Collapsed Out of Shame by Hana Makhmalbaf, Samuel Benchetrit’s J’ai toujours voulu être un gangster, Sur les toits de Paris by Hiner Saleem, as well as the projects DR Plonk by Australia’s Rolf de Heer (produced by Fandango) and Johan Renck’s Downloading Nancy, starring Maria Bello, Jason Patric and Rufus Sewell.

Further market screenings include Olivier Doran’s Pur week-end, UK director Nicolas Roeg’s Puffball and animated films Max & Co by directing duo Sam and Fred Guillaume and Film Noir by D. Jud Jones and Risto Topaloski.
