Switzerland: Riviera Cocktail presented at Cannes
In the fifties and sixties, no photographer captured the stars more than Edward Quinn. In recounting the life of this atypical Irishman, Heinz Bütler’s Swiss film Riviera Cocktail - Edward Quinn, Photographe, Nice (NZZ Film, Accent Films) pays homage to the Cannes Film Festival and the city’s Carlton Hotel, where the documentary will screen on May 22.
Quinn knew all the famous actors and actresses – Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Kirk Douglas, Grace Kelly, Kim Novak, Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, just to mention a few well-known names – and was unrivalled when it came to depicting an aura of glamour on the Croisette.
