Niels Arden Oplev, the award-winning filmmaker of We Shall Overcome [+see also:

film profile], has just started shooting his new film To verdener (Two Worlds), produced and distributed nationally and internationally by Nordisk Film.

Co-written by Oplev and Steen Bille, the film tells the story of Sara, 17, who lives a sheltered existence with her devoutly religious family. When she falls in love with a boy her own age who, however, is not a believer she faces an important turning point in her life.

The film is produced by Thomas Heinesen for Nordisk, with support from TV2 Denmark, regional film fund Film Fyn and the Nordic Film & TV Fund. The domestic release is scheduled for 2008.

Arden Oplev won a Crystal Bear in Berlin 2006 for We Shall Overcome, one of the biggest domestic hits in Denmark last year.
